Scott Perrie is a seasoned performer and Vancouver based actor, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He started busking on at Granville Island over 10 years ago, with his grandfathers Gibson J45 acoustic guitar, and since then has toured across Canada, playing live music venues and festivals from coast to coast. He also performs onstage in professional musical theatre productions as well as acting in film and television. Most recently he was seen on-stage as the rockabilly legend Carl Perkins in Million Dollar Quartet at the Globe Theatre in Regina, SK.
As a solo singer-songwriter he writes and performs original music as well as cover songs. He regularly gigs in Vancouver and Whistler performing in lounges and pubs, and for weddings and private events. Playing a perfect blend of classic and contemporary material “his guitar plucking is clean and confident, and his smoothly soulful crooning is absolutely note-perfect” (Alex Hudson, Georgia Straight). For the past seven years, Scott has also been lead vocalist with some of Vancouver’s premier cover bands, and he currently sings with Side One.
Perrie burst on to Vancouver indie music scene as a vocalist and songwriter in Redgy Blackout, with their Top 20 win with the Peak Performance Project in 2011 and 2012. His song Lovely, Lovely Day won the Shore 104 Best of BC Contest in 2012. Soon after the band split and Perrie penned and produced his debut solo EP Everything Gives in 2013. The live EP is a collection of acoustic songs recorded live in a single day, and the song Elegy was nominated for an Independent Music Award in the social action category.
He met and fell in love with his wife Leora Joy in 2012 and they formed the folk pop duo Winsome Kind after travelling and performing on board VIA Rail accross Canada in 2013. They returned home to Vancouver where they recorded and released their debut album in 2014 to rave reviews; “The folk-pop affair is rife with vibrant harmonies, and there's a candy store's worth of sweet melodies” (Andrea Warner, CBC). Winsome Kind recently released a new holiday single “Sweet Second”, and they continue to book shows and are currently working on new material for their sophomore album. They are doing all this while raising their beautiful son, Avery Jude. Life is good!
