Scott Perrie is a seasoned performer and Vancouver based actor, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He started busking on at Granville Island over 10 years ago, playing his grandfathers Gibson J45 acoustic, and since then has toured across Canada playing live music venues and festivals, and performing onstage in professional musical theatre productions as well as film and tv. Most recently he played the rockabilly legend Carl Perkins in Million Dollar Quartet at the Globe Theatre in Regina, SK.
As a solo singer-songwriter he writes and performs original material and also performs cover songs at weddings and private functions. He regularly gigs around the Vancouver and Whistler area. Playing a perfect blend of classic and contemporary material “his guitar plucking is clean and confident, and his smoothly soulful crooning is absolutely note-perfect” (Alex Hudson, Georgia Straight). For the past seven years, Scott has also been lead vocalist with some of Vancouver’s premier cover bands, including Side One and Famous Players.
A former member and founder of the indie-folk/rock band Redgy Blackout, Perrie burst on to Vancouver music scene as a vocalist and songwriter through their Top 20 win with the Peak Performance Project in 2011 and 2012. His song Lovely, Lovely Day won the Shore 104 Best of BC Contest. After the band split in 2012 Perrie penned and produced his debut solo EP Everything Gives in 2013. The live EP is a collection of acoustic songs recorded in a single day, and the song Elegy was nominated for an Independent Music Award in the social action category.
He continues to write and perform solo, as well with his wife Leora Joy as the folk pop duo Winsome Kind. After travelling and performing on board VIA Rail accross Canada in 2013, they returned home to Vancouver where they recorded and released their debut album in 2014 to rave reviews; “The folk-pop affair is rife with vibrant harmonies, and there's a candy store's worth of sweet melodies” (Andrea Warner, CBC). They recently released a new holiday single “Sweet Second”, and continue to book shows, all while raising their beautiful baby boy.
